$20-million expansion project to give NBCC Moncton a facelift

A 9,000 square foot welding shop will be added, with an air-exchange system and 64 booths to accommodate pre-employment welding students, a contract training program and the 12 to 15 apprenticeship students who rotate through block training. It will be attached to the steel fabrication shop so there can be a sharing of learning between classes. The current welding shop on the second floor will be gutted and re-purposed as a classroom or "soft shop" space.

NE Alabama Community College to Dedicate Industrial Systems Technology Center

Northeast Alabama Community College will take workforce development to the next level Friday when the Industrial Systems Technology Center is dedicated. The dedication will take place at 11 a.m. at the new center on the west side of the Northeast campus along Highway 35 in Rainsville. Originally sentenced to 16 months, Stewart was eligible to earn an earlier release by completing a six-month program at the Nebraska Department of Corrections Work Ethic Camp in McCook, an intense, no-frills, minimum security facility that stresses changing behavior and attitude with parenting and life skill classes, education and 10-hour days on work crews that provide community service.
